The challenges we face
Companies, especially SMEs, can face significant challenges to introduce their new and innovative products into the NHS. The complexity of public procurement, patient safety and a risk averse culture across multiple organisations can be daunting. The Innovation Nexus aims to provide a single source of resource that can help companies, particularly SMEs, understand the steps that need to be taken to support their business planning and engage with the NHS more easily, thus progressing the adoption of their innovation at pace and with fewer unanticipated obstacles.

New funding opportunities for healthcare companies in Greater Manchester
Greater Manchester Academic Health Science Network (GM AHSN) has announced it will re-open its three funding streams to provide support to innovative healthcare practices that address the health and social care needs of the city region.
The funding streams will be formally launched during a live webinar on Friday 16th June, which will broadcast from 12pm. The webinar aims to provide attendees with an overview of the three streams of funding that are available as well as information about the types of needs GM AHSN is looking to address. Please register for the webinar here.
GM AHSNs Innovation Funds were established to support the introduction and adoption of needs-led, evidence-based innovations by the NHS within the GM footprint. This will improve the health of GM citizens by funding the development of products and solutions that are not currently being used by the NHS in the region. Additionally, this will support economic development and wealth creation through the growth of local businesses and job.
